UberGlobal has grown from humble beginnings in the Canberra bedroom of founder Michael McGoogan. In 2002 he founded McGooHQ, the company that subsequently became UberGlobal. Michael was 14 years old at the time and operated as a sole trader reselling US based hosting while still attending high school.
By October 2005, McGooHQ had become AussieHQ, one of Australia's fastest growing web service providers, acquiring Jumba and Hosting Shop along the way.
Over subsequent years the company developed rapidly, attracting a growing corporate and government customer base.
It also continued to build on its strong group of talented and experienced staff, and was further enhanced by a new economy of scale and executive team.

Chief Technology Officer
Dwayne Varey is an operations manager, with wide experience managing large-scale telecommunications networks, server and storage platforms. He is highly adept at developing teams that align with the business' needs. Dwayne was formerly Operations Manager at iiNet. He commissioned iiNet’s 88 rack Data Centre in Perth and was responsible for the re-structure and integration of Westnet's and iiNet's networks and systems.
Chief Financial Officer
Chris is a Chartered Accountant with 12 years financial experience in the Telecommunications and Technology sectors, in both the UK and Australia. He joined UberGlobal in January 2011 and runs all financial, HR and other corporate services activity in the company.
Chief Marketing Officer
Nikhil Ferreira has over 27 years of marketing experience across technology, FMCG, Automotive and Electronics. He is a strategic, marketing and business group leader with global work experience across Australia, APAC [Asia Pacific] as well as the MEA [Middle East and Africa]. He has managed a complete brand and marketing revamp and deployed new digital strategies that have delivered significant growth in terms of both product sales and marketing ROI.
Mark is a chairman and/or director of a number of public and private companies in the fields of private equity, investment advisory and technology. Mark has a history of adding value to organisations and has lead large negotiations on acquisitions and investments over the past 2 decades. Mark is sought out by Government and private sector companies to give advice on a range of investment matters. Mark’s experience working with large international businesses and his passion for small start up businesses, give him an excellent platform to govern the growth of successful companies such as UberGlobal. Mark is well connected with executives in Government and the Investment industry in Australia. Mark is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc), a Graduate Diploma of Logistics Management, a Graduate Diploma of Employment Relations, and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) – RMIT/AAMO.
Non Executive Director and Company Secretary
Mike Mossop was a founding director of the company that is now UberGlobal. Prior to joining the company he ran a consulting business (MM Services Pty Ltd) specialising in health sector financing and policy development. Previously he worked in the commonwealth public service in a variety of policy, planning and project management roles.
He has a BA from the ANU, a certificate of health economics from Monash University. He is an Associate of Company Secretaries Australia (ACSA) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries (ACIS).
Non Executive Director
Shaun Wilson is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of aerospace and systems engineering house, Aerospace Concepts Pty Ltd. Starting his career as an aerospace engineer in the Air Force, he has over two decades of experience in technology-focused business, both in Australia and overseas across a range of industries from leisure sports to mining exploration and commercial construction. Shaun has been a non-executive director of UberGlobal since 2007. He currently chairs the Remuneration Committee and is a member of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.
Shaun is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a number of industry and professional associations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), a master’s degree in aerospace systems engineering from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom and a graduate diploma in information systems from the University of Canberra. Shaun has also attended the National Graduate School of Management (NGSM) in Canberra and Harvard Business School (HBS) in Boston.

Chengpeng Cao is the Chairman of Roc Holdings (Australia) Pty Ltd, which is based in Canberra, Australia. He is also the founder and Chairman of Shenzhen Pengguangda Industrial Co Ltd, a diversified enterprise based in Southern China. With over 24 years of business and commercial experience, he has successfully built his company into a major construction, property development and project investment business.
Chengpeng Cao is currently an Australian permanent resident. He holds a undergraduate certificate in Business Administration from Yunnan University and he is a Standing Committee Member and Assistant Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Luohu District, Shenzhen, China.
Non Executive Director
Gary Lui is an Executive Director of New Territories Investments Pty Limited, which is based in Canberra, Australia. He is engaged in the business of private equity investment and other consulting services. Gary has over 20 years work experiences in various financial and managerial positions. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Science and a Masters Degree in Applied Finance.
From 1987 to 1995, Gary worked for a public accounting firm as an accountant, and for other private and public companies as a financial controller, general manager and project controller. Prior to working in Canberra, Gary served as the Chief Financial Officer of a China-based brewing company and a technology company both listed on the OTC BB in the United States. Gary is also part of the senior management team of the Shenzhen Huaqiang Holdings Limited, a Chinese conglomerate ranked as one of the top 500 enterprises in China.
Gary is currently a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Singapore, and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Michael founded McGooHQ, the company that subsequently became UberGlobal, one of the largest 100% Australian owned web hosting and managed service providers. Michael was recently awarded the 2012 Eastern Region Emerging Category winner for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Having established and grown UberGlobal into a recognised brand and then positioned the company for growth through development of key partnerships with Parallels Automation, Ingram Micro and Microsoft, Michael has recently moved into a non-executive director role to allow him to explore new technology business opportunities.

Our data centres are located in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne. As required, for maximum performance and scalability we use F5 Networks wide IP across both data centres. For backup and disaster recovery services we replicate data and services to the alternate 'off site' data centre.
Our data centres are connected via high speed dedicated fibre. Each data centre also connects to the internet via multiple tier one service providers.
Data storage and compute forms the foundation layer of our capability and we are able to synchronise between Canberra and Sydney data centres to meet highly scalable volumes and high performance mission critical requirements.
